WHEN YOU SWIM, YOU

lose yourself. weightless, falling, floating. your body is no longer yours. held - up, together, suspended, apart. movements assisted, fluid, soft, forceful. a kick, a pull and you're in motion. spin, turn, flip, flow. open eyes and the world's distorted. you're not where you belong. way out of your depth. chest aches, lungs burn, bright panic. a kick, a push... surface breaks, life rushes in, light surrounds, breeze blows, legs work, shoulders above, body below.
